While returning to campus has posed some tumultuous times, the Gillinites and Maple residents who are back are certainly grateful to have one another’s company and the positive support that go along with our boarding community. It has been wonderful to see a handful of students taking advantage of the fresh snow and large amounts of outdoor / sporting gear that they have available within our residence. I enjoyed introducing Viviana and Bella to a common Canadian past-time, classic cross country skiing, and Ms. Hickson has been providing skating lessons to whomever will attend. Another exciting Ottawa development this weekend is the opening of our Rideau Canal Skateway today. This is undoubtedly one of the iconic Ottawa activities for both tourists and locals: 7.8 kms of fun awaits!

Excitedly, we welcome back a number of our boarding students both to the quarantine hotel and back to residence this weekend, as we prepare for in-person learning on Monday. We appreciate everyone’s support and understanding with the new rules and precautions as we strive to keep our community healthy and safe.
