This week in Gillin and Maple

The holiday spirit is in full swing in both Heather Gillin and Maple Residences!  Students decorated the common rooms and hallways, baked ginger cookies, and have a constant stream of “upbeat holiday music” playing on our Google home device. Last weekend many attended the boarding trip to Tangier Outlet Malls for a mix of personal and holiday shopping — I’m sure many were thinking of their parents while perusing the stores :).

With a near snowstorm on Sunday evening, many of or southern hemisphere students enjoyed experiencing a true Canadian winter for the first time. And with the campus covered in a beautiful blanket of snow, a few got out skiing, creating snowmen and generally enjoying the change in seasons. We have some eager downhill skiers as well in Gillin who are thrilled to hit the slopes today at Camp Fortune with the Ashbury Alpine team. It was fun to see them trying on all their winter gear last night!

This weekend our boarding council has prepared an event-filled holiday dinner to celebrate the fall term and connect our community before heading home, to friends, or Montebello for the holidays.
