This Week in Gillin

Ms. Kate Lane
“Just a typical evening in Gillin” is the caption for the pictures, below. As you can see, we love our fine foods and drinks (Starbucks and bubble tea top the list), cooking and, of course, studying… While the pandemic restrictions no doubt limit extra-curricular activities for our students, the girls are lucky to still have their close friends nearby for social support. They also make the best of the situation, going for walks on campus or around the neighbourhood, preparing food for one another or, more often, ordering food for one another.
While our excursions will once again be limited, with the announcement of Ottawa moving into the red zone as of March 19, we will look for creative ways to stay active and busy on campus. Boarders will still be attending in-person classes next week and, other than visits to family and off-campus friends, their lives and limitations should not be dramatically changed by this recent announcement. The weekend weather is forecasting 10-14 Celcius, so with this changed to spring we will soon be able to run sports and activities outside as well. Fresh air, sunshine, and physical activity are the best mood-boosters out there!
