This Week In Matthews

Mr. Brian Storosko
Last week we had a number of Boarding students participate in StayUP Ottawa. This initiative brings attention to the homeless youth in the city. There is fundraising, an education component and an activity where students across the city spend the night outside. Our students set up their gear in the snow, watched the educational show on the screen in Matthews courtyard and then slept in their tents. What a great, worthwhile adventure for all!

In other photos you can see a few boys in the upstairs common room, a few others using multiple screens to complete some Physics homework and even one in the kitchen who was learning to make real whipped cream for his Kinesiology project.

We also welcomed a new student into our quarantine wing: Justus has arrived from Germany and many have met him virtually. We are looking to welcome him into our community when his quarantine period is over.

Report Cards: please remember to help your son improve; your son’s report card results are a great opportunity for him to set a new action plan for December and the rest of the year. We will certainly be working with many boys to help them maintain a better academic focus.
