Boarders’ Weekend with the Gillin Girls

Maria Safonova
This year’s Boarders’ Weekend was particularly special when compared to previous years. With the COVID-19 pandemic, the Boarding Teachers and Boarding Council had to be extra creative but it worked out great! We did many ice-breaker activities like rotational circles where we talked to each person for a minute and who likes what games. Also, it was nice to go on boat trips so that new students get to see the country and city they chose to study in. My favourite part of the day was when all the Gillin Girls were having dinner at Major Hills Park. We got a chance to spend some free time together. It was unfortunate that we couldn’t spend the whole Boarders’ Weekend with Mathews House but there will be opportunities in the future to make new friends and it was good to spend quality time with our Gillin Girls
