The liberal education provided by Ashbury College Senior School teaches students to think, speak and write clearly, critically and creatively. It leads them to explore the core subjects that comprise our human heritage and are the hallmarks of an educated person. It develops a healthy body and illuminates the spirit by inspiring students to look beyond themselves towards the greater good.

Book a Day Visit or Tour

Applicants are encouraged to spend a day at Ashbury shadowing a current student to see what a day in the life of an Ashbury student would be like. Visitors will spend the day exploring the school and experiencing the classroom environment. Lunch will be provided as well. Please email admissions@ashbury.ca to schedule your visit.

We are also happy to give your family a tour of the school to see our world-class facilities and learn about our program offerings. To schedule a tour, please email admissions@ashbury.ca, and we will get back to you to arrange one. Tours are available Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Senior School

At Ashbury College we accept day and boarding students into our Senior School.

While we do accept applications year round, our day program is competitive, so we advise you to apply early for entry the following September. We do consider applications for Grades 10 and 11 although spaces are limited and offers are made dependent on space. We rarely accept students into Grade 12.

Boarding students are admitted predominantly into Grade 9, 10 and 11, with few openings in Grade 12. Our boarding program has a rolling admissions process, however spaces are usually filled by March of each year.

Junior School

Our intake years in the Junior School are Grades 3,4,6, and 7. Although few girls and boys leave the Junior School before graduation, applications for Grades 5 and 8 are kept on file in the event that places become available.

The Junior School offers First Round Admissions in December by applying in October and November. Students not admitted in December will have their applications brought forward for consideration in our Second Round of Admissions which takes place in March.

Please note that a limited number of positions are available for the French Social Studies homeroom in Grade 7.

Success Stories

Dates for Entry

At Ashbury College, we are proud to offer rolling admissions, beginning in January each year.

What does rolling admissions mean?
Unlike fixed application deadlines, rolling admissions allows families to apply at any time once the process opens. As soon as an application is completed, our Admissions committee carefully reviews it to ensure a strong fit for the student and Ashbury College. Should a vacancy be available in the select grade, the student will be offered the place.

Timing and decisions
Rolling admissions begins after our Round 1 of day admissions is complete in December. From January onward, families may submit applications at their convenience. Once an application is complete, our team aims to provide an admissions decision within one week, ensuring families receive timely clarity and support. We would encourage families to expedite the process as positions are limited.

Boarding Entry

Boarding Admissions: We continue to welcome boarding applications for Grades 9–11.

Financial Information

Tuition and Financial Assistance

An independent school education involves a major financial commitment. Ashbury College has established a Financial Assistance Program to aid qualified students. We offer both Merit Awards and Bursaries to assist our families.

The Ashbury Bursaries are need-based and are awarded to students with demonstrated financial need who exhibit sound scholastic achievement, good character and a capacity to make a worthwhile contribution to the school. The majority of endowment funds are reserved for bursary recipients and are available for students Grades 7–12.

Ashbury offers merit awards to select students who display high proficiency in a combination of academics and extra-curricular activities. Merit awards are competitive and offered to less than 5% of new students.

For more information about our Merit Award and Bursary Program, please contact the Admissions Office.

Fees

Upon acceptance of an offer of admission to Ashbury College, new students will be charged a one-time non-refundable Enrollment Fee. Please see our Financial Handbook for complete details or contact the Admissions Office for more information.

Custodianship, Student Visa, Study Permit, and Insurance

All non-residents under the age of 18 studying in Canada must have a Canadian Custodian. Ashbury, along with a consortium of other independent schools, relies on the professional services of International Student Guardianship Canada (ISGC) to provide custodianship for students who do not have family or friends in Canada who are eligible to serve as custodian.

Student Visas and Study Permits are increasingly more complex to apply for, and in most countries, the process takes months. International Student Guardianship Canada takes the stress and work out of the tedious and lengthy application process and can guide you and your child through the Visa and Study Permit application and renewal process. International Student Guardianship Canada (ISGC) offers immigration services through a registered immigration consultant to international students who need assistance. Please contact them directly.

Learn more about the Canadian Custodianship, Visa and Study Permit requirements and how ISGC (view details) and CAS can make the process easy for you.

Insurance is available through guard.me. For more information about the plan, please click the policy documents icon on the guard.me page and choose the language of choice.
