Round Square Conference Billeting

Ashbury is proud to host a unique and novel “winter” Round Square Conference from February 13-19, 2023. The conference will feature a variety of winter sports, and activities to bring the community together including “Living the North” with billet families. Delegates can look forward to unique activities like a 2-night stay at the Chateau Montebello resort, an Ottawa Senators hockey game, an international dinner, and a snow-themed dance and more. The conference will be held over six days and overlaps with Ashbury’s winter carnival and Ottawa’s Winterlude. Delegates will discover what it means to live in winter weather as they enjoy experiences on ice and snow. Students will have the opportunity to learn about the North and Canada’s Arctic from the perspective of indigenous, political, and environmental voices.

We are reaching out to you because host families are needed.  Key to the success of this conference is a positive “local family experience” for approximately 200 delegates. By opening your home, you will not only support the conference, but you may also develop long-lasting relationships. We already have delegates registered from the southern United States, South America and Africa.

We encourage you to fill out and submit this form as soon as possible but no later than November 18 to confirm your participation to host a minimum of 2 students in your home for 4 nights (February 13, 14 and 17, 18). Families will be responsible for providing dinner and breakfast, and a room with a comfortable bed and a door. Billets can share a room; however each student must have their own bed.

You are invited to participate in a question-and-answer session at 6:00 p.m. ET on Thursday, December 1, 2022, to obtain additional information and hear from a parent who hosted delegates during the 2018 conference.
