Grade 12:
I met with Grade 12 students during Community Time this past Thursday to outline the important next steps in the application cycle. Students were reminded of the importance of reviewing offers and conditions carefully, and to respect deadlines noted in offer letters. If you have any questions regarding the next steps in the application cycle, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
On Monday, April 25, the final set of term marks will be sent to universities in Canada where students are still waiting for decisions to be made. If a student has a question regarding these marks, they are asked to stop by the University Counselling Office.
Grade 11 Students:
On Wednesday, April 20, Grade 11 students attended a presentation about applying to international universities. The presentation will be posted in the Guidance Class of 2023 Notebook, and covers information about applying to UK, Ireland, and other international locations.
A representative from Science Po University in France visited the school on Thursday, April 21 to speak to interested students. A copy of the presentation is also posted in OneNote.
On Wednesday, April 27 at 4:00pm a presentation about “University Scholarships” will take place in the Mital for interested Grade 11 students.
On Wednesday, April 27 at 7pm– In collaboration with the Business Department and the Alumni Office, there will be an Education and Career Pathway Panel focused on the area of Business. Students will have an opportunity to hear from former Ashbury students who are currently studying Business or who are early in their business career. All interested Grade 11 students are encouraged to join this virtual event to learn from graduates about their education and career pathways they have taken in business since leaving Ashbury. The link will be sent to students next week.
On Friday, April 29 Grade 11 students are invited to a “Lunch and Learn” with a panel of students from the Grade 12 Class of 2022.” Our Grade 12 students will offer some advice on how to manage the final year and the application cycle.

“Studying STEM in the US” – learn more about the advantages of studying STEM in the US and resources available for international students. WPI, Drexel University, and Rochester Institute of Technology will co-host this session.
