Nurse Tui Noonan

After 27 years serving the health needs of the Ashbury community, Tui Noonan retires this month as School Nurse and this week we were able to say our goodbyes and send her our best wishes.   Ms. Noonan has provided health support to our boarding and day students and even staff and their families when help has been needed – “Tui” has been the centre point of Ashbury’s circle of care for over a quarter century!

Not only has Ms. Noonan cared for our community’s physical needs, she has always sought to ensure that students mental health was made a priority – especially during the isolating times of COVID.

Ms. Noonan has boundless energy and has remained devoted to ensuring care for our entire community throughout her tenure.

Although Ms. Noonan is a proud New Zealander, she is truly a global citizen  always attuned to world issues, reading extensively, attending lectures and showing genuine interest in each and every story of our students.   Her list of travel destinations is extensive having lived, worked and travelled around the world while coming home to campus on Springfield Avenue, or to her lake home at Christie Lake.   I understand that 2022 will see her continuing her travels at home and abroad.

Ms. Noonan, Tui,  thank you for your unwavering support of our school community over the years – there are thousands (yes thousands) of students, families and alumni who will remember you fondly as a supportive and friendly figure in their lives – and many of whom you were always willing to go that extra mile.
