Homecoming 2020 Schedule
Monday, September 21: 5km virtual fun run
Participate in our virtual 5km fun run by completing a 5km run/walk at any point during the week of September 21–25. Track your run on the Ashbury College Alumni Club on Strava or send in a photo of your route and time to firstname.lastname@example.org. An Ashbury swag pack will be mailed to the fastest runner and three names will be drawn from all participants to receive $100 to the Running Room.
Tuesday, September 22, 7–8 pm: Alumni Trivia
Join us on Zoom on Tuesday, September 22 at 7 pm ET for an alumni trivia night with Ashbury College, moderated by faculty member Dr. John Richardson. We will be using the platform Kahoot for the event, so there is no need to create teams in advance. Participants will play individually using their own smartphone or tablet. It is encouraged to download the app Kahoot in advance, or a link will be shared at the beginning of the event. Registration in advance is required.
Thursday, September 24, 10:20–11am: CSI Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, on campus and live streamed
Join us online as Ashbury celebrates an historic chapter in our campus evolution. Please register for the ribbon cutting and grand opening of the new Centre for Science & Innovation. This brief ceremony, starting at 10:20am, will mark the official opening of our new university-calibre science centre, completed in March 2020 and opened to students on September 8th 2020, and celebrate an increase of $1.4M toward the Ashbury College Endowment, providing needs-based student financial assistance to 10% of current students.

- Time: 10:20–11am

Friday, September 25, 12:15-5pm: Golf afternoon at Gatineau Golf and Country Club
Join us on Friday, September 25 for an afternoon of golf at the Gatineau Golf and Country Club. Register your foursome now online before Friday, September 18 at 9am. Lunch and beverages on the course will be provided. Space is limited as we will be compliant with all government-directed health protocols. Thursday, October 1, 7 pm: Anti-Racism Education with Destine Lord *new date
Join us on Thursday, October 1 at 7 pm ET for this interactive session with inclusion and anti-racism consultant, Destine Lord. During this 90-minute dialogue-based session Destine will review the key definitions and racial concepts necessary for teachers to discuss race in the classroom. Take part in a modified session, similar to what Ashbury staff participated in during professional development week, so you too can learn to facilitate challenging conversations and lean in to discomfort with openness and humility. Registration in advance is required.
Official reunion gatherings have been postponed until 2021, however, Ashbury encourages everyone celebrating a reunion to share a photo or memory on their class Kudo Board. Find a link to your class Kudo Board below. We’ve also put together a Spotify playlist celebrating all reunion years. If you’d like to submit a song that reminds you of your time at Ashbury email email@example.com.
