The vision for university-calibre science laboratories, designed to inspire scientific curiosity and innovation among Ashbury students, has been brought to life and the official ribbon cutting ceremony will take place on Thursday, September 10, during Ashbury’s opening week. Hundreds of supporters have made this possible and we are so grateful. In recent weeks, Ashbury parent and multimedia artist, Michael Benson, has generously donated 11 prints from his planetary landscape photography series. Benson takes raw image data from deep-space missions run by NASA and the European Space Agency and digitally processes it to create large-format landscapes. In the last decade, Benson has staged a series of large-scale exhibitions of his 148-print, large-scale exhibition “Beyond: Visions of Our Solar System,” in galleries and museums across Australia, Europe and the U.S., including the Art Gallery of the Smithsonian Institution’s National Air and Space Museum.
